The Balance of Mind and Body

Good Evening all. I'm trying to get more consistent with my blog entries so bare with me. I truly believe in "Paying It Forward", and I don't mean in the literal sense of dollar bills. I mean passing on the knowledge, or kindness, or love, or inspiration. Whatever it is that can brighten the day of another human being is what it's all about.

If you know me then you have heard me say, "Change your perception. Change your life." These are words that I live by. Life is about how you see things. It is one's ability to see the BIGGER picture. To be able to see past your current situation and stay focused on the BIGGER plan. It's being able to see the beauty in even the ugliest of moments. To smile when the only thing you have left to give are tears. It is being able to put your mind in a place of limitless FAITH.

When you are able to get the mind healthy and in a place of homeostasis, the body and all else will naturally fall into place. Because whether you truly realize and or understand it, the mind and body serve as a foundation for everything you will accomplish in this lifetime. But, you must also understand that because the two are naturally connected, one can definitely effect the other. The mind and body are meant to act in harmony, so it is very important that you pay attention to your body as it speaks to you. It is also important that you allow your mind and body to work together. Don't focus on resistance and don't focus on the resistance of others. Focus on what matters most and that is finding the centering place that will allow you to nurture and create the balance you need to be a successful human being.  I will leave you with this quote.....
"To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear." - Buddha

Loving Your Emotions

Nothing is more intimate than our feelings. We often guard them with our very lives. We do every thing to deny them when we should learn to embrace them. Whether we realize it or not, our emotions influence every decision that we make and don't make. The deeper your self-awareness the greater the understanding of your emotions you have. You are not your emotions. However, if you are not aware of and in control of your emotions you will soon find them and you all over the place. Emotions can work with you or against you. So with that being said, it is very important that we learn to accept and deal with our emotions.

Contrary to popular belief our emotions are not meant to stay. Emotions are meant to move. When you deny or run from your emotions they become stagnant. And you soon become stuck in that very emotion. You must face your emotions and move through  them. Emotions can make us uncomfortable and for that very reason we shy away from them. But, emotional care is a very important part of self-care. In fact they go hand in hand with one another. Our emotions are meant to support us. To keep us in a place of total intimacy with oneself. So I say that to say this, it is important that we HEAL and WORK through, TALK through, whatever it is that you need to do to be at PEACE, to be able to MOVE FORWARD, and ultimately BE HAPPY and MAKE BETTER CHOICES. Loving yourself means loving you in all of your wholeness and that includes your emotions.
