Well Hello All. These last few days have definitely been heavy for not just myself but for the Nation. Which leaves me to question everything I once knew. All of my life I have been told of stories of brutality and racism beyond anything that I could ever fathom. I have even experienced my own various levels of racism and brutality. But, to see the events that have taken place over the past few days is HEARTBREAKING!! I am at a lost for words and I feel the need to DO SOMETHING. I can't just continue to sit around and do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! I wanted to do something to help EMPOWER and EDUCATE the people. OUR PEOPLE. HELL ANYBODY THAT IS WILLING TO DO MORE THAN JUST LISTEN. I want to be the VOICE of the VOICELESS. When these BLACK MEN are killed (and not just at the hands of the POLICE) it is the WOMEN, the MOTHER'S who are left to pick up the pieces. It is the MOTHER'S who have to make sense of it all and pull the family together. It is the MOTHER'S who have to bare the scars of the experience. It is the MOTHER'S who are told to BE STRONG while being forced into SILENCE. This is no longer a time where Women just sit at home and allow the Men to go out and fight because OUR MEN are being murdered, incarcerated, or are totally non-existent in the HOME. We must NOW fight and protect our homes, OUR CHILDREN, OUR FAMILIES. So it is time that we UPLIFT, EDUCATE, and EMPOWER our MOTHER'S to TAKE A STAND and TAKE BACK our families, our homes, our FATHER'S, OUR SONS. This is a time for US as WOMEN to set aside the PETTINESS and PRIDE and come together. Our children's lives depend on it. We need to educate others on GUN LAWS, and our CIVIL RIGHTS and LIBERTIES, FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE, and most IMPORTANTLY OUR HISTORY. We cannot MOVE FORWARD if we don't understand where we come from. Change is more than just marching together, it's about creating a platform to address the real social issues while coming together to find a way to make these things happen.
So I decided that I wanted to create and start a movement that can work towards efforts that will incite change on many levels. All it takes is just one! One Voice, One Person, One Stand.
